Active Coach is our small group personal training programme. We deliver a results-driven programme designed around your busy schedule. We will coach and implement your programme and most importantly, hold you accountable to your goals.

At the start of your Active Coach trial, you will be assigned your own Accountability Coach. This will be one of our experienced trainers, who will be there to support and guide you on a daily basis.

Accountability Coach

In our strategy session, one of our coaches will sit down with you to discuss your health history, any past or current injuries you might have and your specific goals. They will take this time to truly get to know you and hear about everything you’re looking to accomplish.

Initial Strategy Session

Following the strategy session, your coach will take what they have learned about your goals, exercise history and movement and then design a programme, specifically tailored to you. The programme will contain two workouts, A and B, which you will perform in rotation over the next 4 weeks.

Personalised Programme

Your coach will then take you through a quick physical assessment. The assessment is very simple, and is a way for our coaches to get a sense of how you move currently, and which program we think would be best for you!

Movement Assessment

Each workout will be led be one of our coaches, who will be on had to warm you up, mobilise you and then coach you through your programme. Training sessions will take place in small groups of up to 4 people. This helps to create social support and enjoyment.

Fully Coached Sessions

To access progress, you need to know the starting point for your journey. We will help you to monitor a number of key metrics, one of which is body composition. This is essentially telling you about the levels of fat and muscle in your body. It is not a test and we make no judgement…and neither should you. It simply sets a marker for where you are now and we will then retest at the end of the trial.

Body Composition Analysis

With your free trial, not only do you get access to Active Coach, but you also have full access to all the other gym facilities and classes. We have a full class programme and a well equipped cardio area, if you want to do more outside of your coached sessions. You can also chill out in the sauna and steam room.

Nutrition Coaching

If you want to add muscle, then training is the number one factor; if you want to lose fat, then nutrition is number one. As most of our Active Clients want to start with some fat lose, we make sure that you have all the nutrition support you need during your trial. We don’t want to overwhelm you too much at the start, so we will generally suggest completion a 3 day food diary, to get a feel for where you are now. We will then go into greater detail, looking at habits, calorie balance and food tracking options. We will also add to to the superb Precision Nutrition platform for additional online support, in addition to what you will receive from your coach.

  • We want to give you the best possible experience when you join, and make you feel exactly like a full-time client. To get you off to the perfect start, see where you’re at, and discuss any specific goals or concerns, we’ll give you a personalised evaluation with one of our personal trainers.

    This includes a movement screening and an optional body composition measurement. It will also give us an opportunity to get to know you and help you get the most out of your training.

    You can then look forward to 6x SGPT sessions, unlimited group classes, a warm welcome to Active Coach and our Active fitness community.

  • Don’t we all! We totally understand and appreciate that you may be carrying some previous injury history, so don’t worry. We can discuss, assess and make a plan to manage this together.

    Our aim is to make sure you feel comfortable and confident, even if that means we need to proactively adapt some movements, or add some corrective exercise.

  • Perfect for us! We absolutely love being able to support our member community, no matter what level or experience you have. You may have not been keen on sports at school, or maybe you’ve taken up fitness later in life?

    We’re firm believers that “age ain’t nothing but a number”, and we’re here to support your journey.

  • Not every day needs to be a training day. We believe in a sustainable approach to training, and rest days are truly a big part of the process.

    If you sign up to the challenge and know that you will be unavailable for a portion of the 21 days, let us know, and we may be able to extend it for you – so you can still get the most out of your experience.

  • Our Small-Group Personal Training sessions (SGPT) are 50 minutes. Simple, yet effective doses of training.

    We hold ourselves accountable to delivering within those times, as we know how important it is for you to manage your schedules around the gym.
