MAD CHALLENGE 2023
Ryan Spencer, a former staff member and son of Manager Becky Spencer, was involved in a serious car accident in December 2021. Ryan was taken to Lister Hospital CCU where he spent several weeks with multiple life-threatening injuries. Ryan underwent a number of surgeries during his time in the CCU. A few of the staff and members of Active Fitness Club in Luton decided to create the MAD Challenge (Run a Mile A Day every day for the duration of 2023) to help Becky raise funds for the Sunshine appeal. This is to say a massive thank you to all the staff at Lister Hospital CCU for all their hard work, dedication and support they gave to Ryan and his family during such a difficult time. Without them, Ryan would not be here with us today and his adorable baby son would now be growing up without a father.
Member Christina Lawerence created the MAD Challenge (Run a Mile A Day every day for 2023), and a number of staff and members are joining Christina to participate in the challenge.
They will also be raising funds for The Sunshine Appeal at Lister Hospital in Stevenage. Manager Becky Spencer choose this charity to say a massive thank you to all the staff at Lister Hospital CCU for all their hard work, dedication and support they gave to Ryan Spencer, Becky's son and former employee at Active Fitness Club, after his near-fatal car accident and a long stay at the CCU early last year. So far we have raised £147. We would be grateful if you could give a small donation to this worthy cause and support your fellow Active Fitness Club members as they undertake this massive challenge.
